On Saturday, the Uttarakhand Ayurveda and Unani Licensing Authority revoked the order banning the production of five medicines by Ramdev’s Divya pharmacy. These five medicines include Bpgrit, Madhugrit, Thyrogrit, Lipidom tablets, and Eyegrit Gold tablets, which are used for treating diabetes, blood pressure, goiter, glaucoma, and high cholesterol, respectively.

The Drug Controller of the State noted that the earlier order issued on November 9, 2022, had some errors. He added that the agency should have given the company some time to explain its stance before issuing the order. The previous order stated that the company can restart manufacturing these products only after the authority approves their revised formulation sheets.

The ban on the company was issued after a Kerala-based doctor, Dr. K. V. Babu, accused Divya Pharmacy of violating the Drugs and Magic Remedies (objectionable advertisement) Act and the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. Dr. Babu had lodged his complaint against the firm with the Authority in July.
